Timbers U-23s 2012 Tryouts

The Portland Timbers U-23s, the development team for Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers, will conduct a pair of two-day player tryouts in March 2012, in advance of their upcoming Premier Development League season.

The Timbers U-23s will hold their two-day tryouts March 10-11 and March 24-25, 2012. The tryouts will take place in Portland, Ore.; at Lincoln High School. Both sessions are currently full. Please contact soccer operations coordinator Aaron Lewis at alewis@portlandtimbers.com to be added to the waiting list. 

The upcoming tryouts are open to all players 17 years of age or older. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present at the tryout. The registration fee is $125. 

When: March 10-11th  
Times: 9:00-4:00 pm (Check in begins at 8:15 am)

Cost: $125.00 (Includes lunch both days)

ABOUT PORTLAND TIMBERS U-23s
Founded Nov. 11, 2008, the Timbers U-23s is an amateur team affiliated with the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer. The team consists of standout players from collegiate and youth programs from Oregon and throughout the Northwest, and serves as a development platform for the Timbers first team. The team competes in United Soccer Leagues' Premier Development League, the top U-23 men’s league in North America and features 64 teams across the United States and Canada.

In 2010, the Timbers U-23s assembled an historic season, posting a perfect 16-0-0 record during the regular season on their way to becoming the first undefeated PDL champion in the league’s 15-year history.

The Timbers U-23s play in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference. PDL teams play a 16-match, regular-season schedule, which runs from May through July.
