Timbers announce 2010 tryout schedule
The Portland Timbers today announced the club’s 2010 tryout schedule, which will include the annual invite-only combine and an open tryout. The open tryout will be held January 23-24, while the invite-only combine will take place January 30-31.

ABOUT PORTLAND TIMBERS U-23s:
Introduced in November 2008, the Portland Timbers U-23s is the official development team of the Portland Timbers Soccer club. The Timbers U-23s compete in United Soccer Leagues' Premier Development League (PDL), and will begin its inaugural season in 2009. The PDL is North America's top amateur league for players 23 years of age and younger and serves as a ground for elite and up-and-coming players. The Timbers organization also fields a first team, which enters its ninth season in the USL First Division in 2009.
The Timbers U-23s are members of the PDL's Northwest Division of the Western Conference. The team will play a 16-match, regular-season schedule in 2009. The regular-season will begin on May 1 and conclude on July 19 with playoffs and a league championship match to follow.
