Nanchoff joins the Timbers in 2013 after playing his first two professional seasons in MLS with Vancouver Whitecaps FC. He was selected No. 8 overall as a member of Generation adidas by Vancouver in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft after a standout collegiate career at the University of Akron. Nanchoff played under Timbers head coach Caleb Porter at Akron and helped the Zips make back-to-back NCAA College Cup finals appearances (2009-10) and win the national championship in 2010.

PERSONAL: Studied sport and exercise science while at Akron … Led Walsh Jesuit High School (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) to the Division II state championship as a senior in 2006, and was named an NSCAA All-American, to the All-Ohio First Team and the Cleveland Plain Dealer Player of the Year that season … Product of a soccer family, father, George, and uncle, Louie, were All-Americans at the University of Akron in the 1970s and went on to play professionally in the original North American Soccer League and the Major Indoor Soccer League … Both relatives each earned 10 caps and scored one goal with the U.S. National Team during their playing careers.
