Timbers defeat Montreal in first preseason win
Eddie Johnson nets winner in 1-0 victory

On a first-half goal by forward Eddie Johnson, the Portland Timbers defeated the Montreal Impact 1-0 today in a preseason scrimmage at Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Johnson scored in the seventh minute and Portland’s defense, backed by goalkeeper Adin Brown, posted its second straight shutout of the preseason.
