After two standout seasons at the University of Connecti­cut, Jean-Baptiste joined the Timbers as the first-round Su­perDraft pick (eighth overall) of the team on Jan. 12, 2012.

2013: Came off the bench and logged 39 minutes to help the backline record a shutout in a 1-0 win against FC Dallas on June 15 at JELD-WEN Field ... Started and played all 90 minutes in five straight regular-season matches May 8-June 8 ... Played all 90 minutes of a 2-0 win over D.C. United on May 25, contributing to the club's first shutout on the road and fifth overall on the season ... Started and played the full 90 in a 3-0 win over Chivas USA on May 12 at JELD-WEN Field, contributing to the club's fourth straight shutout at home ... Returned to the Starting XI on May 8 in a 1-1 road draw at FC Dallas ... Made consecutive substitute appearances due to injuries April 27 and May 2, aiding in results against Sporting Kansas City and New England Revolution, respectively ... Made the second substitute appearace of his MLS career April 6, coming on in the first half for an injured David Horst and helping the club record its first clean sheet of the season in 72 minutes of work against Houston ... Started and played the full 90 in each of the club's first four games of the regular season (March 3-30) ... Earned his first MLS assist on Rodney Wallace's second-half, stoppage-time equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Seattle on March 16 ... Became the youngest Timbers player to score an MLS goal at 19 years, eight months and 27 days when he tallied his first professional goal in the Timbers’ season-opening 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union at JELD-WEN Field March 12 ... Played in six matches (4 starts) for the Timbers Reserves in the MLS Reserve League, logging 421 minutes and registering one goal ... Scored May 27 in a 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Reserves ... Contributed in back-to-back shutout wins over Seattle Sounders FC Reserves (2-0) April 10 and Whitecaps FC Reserves (3-0) April 22 ... Played 28 minutes as a second-half sub in a July 24 friendly vs. Aston Villa FC and the entire second half of an exhibition against Valencia CF on May 23 ... Went on loan to the L.A. Blues of USL PRO from July 11 to Aug. 20 ... Played the full 90 minutes in all eight of his appearances for the Blues, contributing to four clean sheets during his loan spell.

INTERNATIONAL: Played in the Lisbon International Tourna­ment with the U.S. U-18 National Team and was a member of the U-20 National Team pool in 2010.

COLLEGE: Was named the Big East Conference Defen­sive Player of the Year after starting in each of the 25 matches he played in during his sophomore season in 2011 … Anchored UConn’s defense that allowed just 10 goals and recorded a program-record 16 shutouts ... Recorded two goals and one assist, while earning All-BIG EAST Conference first-team and NSCAA All-Northeast Region first-team honors … Garnered Soccer America second-team MVP Honors ...
